Do you have any foreign assets?
Please select one
They can be included in your will but you should be cautious as the law of the country your assets are could have priority over your will. Countries have different succession laws so ideally we recommend you make a different will in each country unless you are certain about the local succession law.

Gifts to your spouse or civil partner and children
In Scotland a spouse or civil partner is entitled to half of your net moveable estate if there are no children or a third if there are children.
Children are entitled to half of your net moveable estate if there is no surviving spouse or a third if there is a surviving spouse.
‘Moveable estate’ means bank accounts, shareholdings, cars, personal belongings but not a house, flat or land.
Who do you want to receive a gift or share of your estate?
You will be able to leave them a specific gift (money, property, items) or a share of your estate in the next steps.
Do you want to include any charities? (optional)
Required – please add at least one
Do You Want to Leave Specific Gifts or Donations?
(Optional) You can leave property, items or money to a beneficiary. Anything you don't specify here will be dealt with in the next step where you can define how the rest of your estate is shared.
e.g. £450
e.g. 221 Baker Street, London, NW1 6XE
e.g. to split this property between two beneficiaries you can gift 50% each
e.g. all of my jewels, all of my sculptures, all of my musical instruments etc.
e.g. my Toyata car registered XYZ0000, my 1980s wristwatch, etc.
How is your estate shared?
When you pass away your funeral expenses and any debts are paid out of your estate first.
Any gifts you left in the previous step are distributed next.
Choose now how the remainder of your estate will be shared amongst your beneficiaries.
You have only added one beneficiary so the remainder of your estate will go to this person only. You can directly move on to the next step. If someone is missing from this list, go back to add them.
How would you like the rest of your estate to be shared?
Total must add up to 100%
